Our self-worth is too often based on what other people tell us about ourselves. The one, true authority on our self-worth is Jesus Christ, and since He gave His own life up for us by dying on a cross, that should tell us just how valuable we really are.
Christians should deal with small problems—the “little foxes”—before they turn into big ones in our marriages, friendships, or faith. We need to care for and protect the good things growing in our lives, like relationships, ministries, or our own growth. God gives us these blessings, and we have to watch over them on purpose. As priests before God, we must offer spiritual sacrifices, represent Christ in the world, live a life of holiness, serve others, embrace suffering, be a light in the darkness, and build each other up in faith.
